We are a family-centred Christian ministry passionate about seeing people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and step into their God-given calling. Everything we do — from church life in Colchester to Summer Camp, missions, discipleship, and leadership support across the nations — flows from a deep commitment to relationship, service, and the transforming power of the gospel.
At the heart of the ministry is a devoted team of families who serve together with faith, humility, and joy. Each brings unique gifts, life experience, and a shared love for people. From pastoral care and teaching to hospitality, worship, children’s ministry, practical support, and behind-the-scenes organisation, our team is the backbone of all we do.
Together, we don’t just run events — we build community, invest in the next generation, support leaders, and create spaces where lives are refreshed, faith is strengthened, and lasting fruit is formed. We are deeply grateful for this team and the way God uses each one to serve His Kingdom faithfully.
Paul & Karen Carr
Paul & Karen are international speakers and have travelled from east Asia to America bringing the message of Jesus Christ. They are pioneers for Christ, they were given a word spoken over them in 1990 that they would be like Abraham & Sarah, father and mother to many and as they look back over 40 years of ministry they have spiritual children in many countries many serving the Lord. They minister in the area of family looking at what God says in his word about Relationships and Marriage.
Paul and Karen are the co-founders of Freedom Church and carry a heartfelt vision to empower people to fulfil their God-given calling. Serving in ministry since 1989, they have spent over three decades faithfully sharing the message of Jesus. Trained through the Ellel Ministries NETS course, they have seen Freedom Church grow and bear lasting fruit.
Patrick & Rebecca
Patrick and Rebecca have built a strong family life grounded in their Christian faith. With a shared love for the outdoors and boundless energy, they have a natural gift for motivating and encouraging young people. Their wide-ranging skills and genuine ability to connect with others enable them to contribute meaningfully across many areas of church life. They are both on the worship team, and lead the NxGen.
Christian & Lucy
Married for ten years and parents to two young children, Christian and Lucy play vital roles in the church, Lucy leads Kingdom Explorers, bringing creativity, care, and attention to detail to ensure each child is equipped to discover the love of God. Christian’s versatility shines as he seamlessly supports the technical side and well as speaking in the main service.
Jake & Haylie
Jake and Haylie have been together since the age of 16 and married for 12 years. They are proud parents to two delightful daughters. Haylie brings extensive experience in event organisation; as co-organiser and hospitality lead, she ensures the smooth running of our programs, also serving in the Kingdom Explorers and Adventurers. Jake is a gifted preacher and serves faithfully on the worship team.
Inus & Julianne
Inus and Julianne bring over 20 years of experience in Christian ministry. With four boys, two cats, and a dog, life is full and vibrant. In 2026, they will see their eldest step into adulthood. Their depth of experience and family-centred faith bring wisdom, stability, and warmth to the wider team.
Liam & Sarah
With four young children and 8 years of marriage, they are raising their children in Christian faith. Liam and Sarah are experienced secondary school teachers. Sarah takes on the role of co-organiser and hospitality, also serving in the Kingdom Explorers and Adventurers. Meanwhile, Liam lends his talents to team-building events and serves faithfully on the worship team.
